Government of India Approval
The Tiger Toilet was approved by the 9th Meeting of Dr. R.A. Mashelkar Committee held on 23rd Jan 2018. The Mashelkar committee is a part of the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India.
Advantages:
- The Tiger Toilet has consistently displayed high operational efficiency, with nearly 95% reduction of faecal organic matter without odour and sludge nuisance (measured as BOD reduction). Treatment results meet CPCB norms
- Its modular nature and on-site treatment features reduce the need for wastewater networks in complex rural and urban areas.
- Further, its small footprint, ease of building, and sturdy superstructure makes it convenient to be built inside a house. This has improved the safety for women and helped in eliminating open defecation.
